The SEP is a 106dB electronic audible alarm with 32 adjustable tones to give you a variety of alarm sounds in the same area.

Sounder
I purchased this unit, along with a standard 110V lamp replacement cord with bare ends, in order to set up in a master bedroom and connect via a Z-Wave switch to wall power. The purpose of the strobe/sounder combo is to alert me when certain motion and contact sensors around the outside of the house are activated at night. These sensors are NOT tied into the report side of Alarm.com, they only serve as triggers for Z-wave devices such as outside flood lights and now this alarm. Rules are established within Alarm.com that dictates times and circumstances for activation. Product works fantastic.
